The Event Coordinator will be supporting the team in planning and delivering the upcoming International Volunteer Day celebration event on 5th December. On the day we will be launching an exhibition, as part of the Get Connected EU Project. Your volunteer role will involve: 1. Liaising with venue and contributing ideas for the decoration of venue and arranging exhibition pieces 2. Liaising with graphic designer to create an invite, social media banners, etc 3. Writing promotional materials and liaising with media 4. Liaising with charities and volunteers to invite them to the event 5. Contacting potential sponsors and sourcing items for goodie bags and prizes 6. Coordination of catering; liaising with caterer and suppliers 7. Attending the event and ensuring everything goes to plan on the night! Get Connected exhibition Launch on International Volunteer Day Get Connected is an EU project that aims to showcase the journey of people who are new to volunteering and highlight their contribution in their respective communities across Dublin City. International Volunteer Day is an opportunity to thank and acknowledge the great work being done by volunteers all year round. To mark the occasion we will hold an event for up to 100 people on Wednesday 5th December in city centre location.
Ideally, you would be a creative person and have solid experience of organising events, no matter how big or small. You would have good organisations skills and enjoy working on multiple projects at the same time. We are looking for a person who is confident and proactive and enjoys interacting with various stakeholders, including volunteers, other volunteer involving organisations and media.
Level of English required for this role: Fluent English
Minimum time commitment: 3 months
Hours required: 8hrs Weekly
