The Fashion Communications administrator is a key member of the Fashion Communications team, working closely with the Press Assistants and senior team members. The Fashion Communications Administrator will ensure the day to-day elements of the PR office are working efficiently and effectively. With strong awareness of fashion and influencer trends, creative yet commercial flair and ability to work in a fast-paced demanding environment. The Fashion Communications Administrator will also work closely with internal departments to ensure that Fashion Communication operations run smoothly.

Purpose of role: The Fashion Communications Administrator will be responsible for the co-ordination of
the functioning press office & showroom; focusing on the management of samples, from stores and buying
offices and the image databases.

Reports to: Fashion Communication Officer

Start date: Summer 2019

Duration:6 months

Location: Dublin

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tracking, scanning and archiving of all relevant brand fashion, influencer and business press coverage
  • Compiling coverage reports; including weekly coverage and global monthly campaign based reports
  • Working with the entire international Fashion Communications teams across all regions
  • Managing store press appointments and store sample send outs – working with the in-store and management teams
  • Supporting the senior team members on all influencer activity, including gifting, sample send outs to regions and coverage reports
  • Responsible for showroom management, including sample call ins and returns, tracking of samples, recording all new samples, as well as ensuring both local and international showrooms are presentable at all times
  • Helping the PR team to strengthen the internal buying team relationships and become a key link between internal departments and PR – working with product business partners
  • Handling price and image requests from print and online media when required
  • Updating press and influencers lists in line with GDPR regulations
  • Managing and maintaining the Primark PR Shots libraries on a weekly basis, ensuring all territories have updated image libraries and communicating this to the teams
  • Assisting senior team members with special projects and events on an adhoc basis
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry developments, fashion trends, influencers, celebrities and the online community. Identifying broad and emerging trends in social media, content consumption, pop culture and fashion that the PR team can tap into and harness
  • Attending relevant team meetings to review progress and identify future objectives for yourself and the department
  • Carry out research when needed on behalf of the team relative to emerging talent in fashion networks and key markets
  • Act as a brand advocate internally and act as a brand ambassador on behalf of the PR team at external events at all times with the assistance of other senior team members


Knowledge, skills experience:

  • Studying for a fashion based and/or PR/Marketing qualification
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Photoshop
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment, with excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Be proactive & assertive, able to react to key business requirements in a timely manner

  • Be a style conscious, fashion obsessed, independent thinker with an attention for detail and a creative eye
  • Have strong interpersonal and communications skills – you must be organised and flexible with excellent brand fashion know how
  • Be a pro-active person with a can do attitude – no job too big or small


In order to be considered for this role you must be a recent Graduate who has studied a relevant subject (a fashion based and/or PR/Marketing qualification) at University and be able to start in Summer 2019.
